- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Laura Smith -- Beautiful! : You'll find yourself trying to find ways to sneak in a few more pages any chance you get to continue reading this beautiful interwoven tale. Cambron has done her homework and makes Paris during World War 2 come alive for the reader. It's as if we're walking the streets and sitting in the cafes with the strong, smart women characters and feeling the gamut of emotions they experience with them. Packed with twists and turns as the courageous main characters face the evils of war as well as lovely moments of grace, beauty, and love woven in. Bonus: this is a PG read, which is extremely refreshing! ( Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from lghudson -- EXTRAORDINARY! : If you are a reader, you consider yourself BLESSED when you find a novel that captivates you from page one straight thru to the last word and you know the theme from this novel will stay in your heart forever! Kristy Cambron’s THE PARIS DRESSMAKER is this type of book and I highly recommend it! Cambron has written a magnificent, breathtaking novel based on true accounts of how Parisiennes resisted the Nazi occupation in World War II. She centers her storyline around two courageous women, Lila de Laurent and Sandrine Paquet, who risked everything to fight an evil they cannnot abide. Cambron has created characters that will ignite your imagination and make the reader feel as though they are a part of their world and have joined La Resistance! - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Suzanne J. Sellner -- Exciting WWII Novel of Courageous Men and Women Resisting the Nazis : Kristy Cambron created an exciting novel featuring two brave women who used their talents to resist the occupation of the Nazis in Paris and assist the French Resistance. Lila, a dressmaker, is able to gather intelligence while assisting the paramours of the Nazi officers with their evening gowns. Sandrine is pressed into service cataloguing art pieces stolen from the Jews and being shipped to Germany. She and others doing the same job keep copies of the list of art so that those art pieces can hopefully be recovered and returned to their owners. Both experience danger and are sometimes mistakenly thought to be aiding the enemy. Both have romantic interests who try to protect them but are deeply involved in the French Resistance and are in great danger themselves. What an exciting novel with realistic, well-drawn characters! This is a must read for those who find WWII books interesting. ( Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2021 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from AFuhr -- An Enjoyable Read : I enjoyed this book, and the unique twist on a dual timeline. Following two women through the German occupation in Paris, France, you see how two seemingly different women work out how to survive a horror they could have never expected. This story models the importance of making the right choice, even when no one sees. Also, how those choices don’t just impact you, but have the possibility to ripple out to others you never see. This book was well written, full of meticulous research and beautiful descriptions. It was worth reading just for the visuals! Both female characters were strong leads, and each of their stories were intriguing. This is not a race to the finish type book, but rather one that is easy to sink into, whether over hours, days, or weeks. I listened to the audiobook, and found the narrator to be a perfect fit for the story. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. ( Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2021 )

- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Tazbeet -- Incredible : This is such an incredibly well written story. I just enjoyed it and read it within a couple of days. - 2.0 out of 5 stars from Ingrid -- Too difficult to enjoy : I have read several of this authors books and enjoyed them. This one however, I found too difficult to get into. The combination of dual time lines, multiple characters and French names, places and language did not work well for me. I gave up after reading the first four chapters.
